Decimus Junius Juvenalis, known as Juvenal, was a Roman satirist conventionally dated to the late first and early second centuries AD. His Satires use the speaking voice of moral indignation to portray urban life, wealth, patronage, social hierarchy, and the tensions of Roman public culture.
