Xenophon of Ephesus was a Greek novelist probably active in the second century AD. His Ephesiaca follows Anthia and Habrocomes through abduction, travel, captivity, apparent death, and reunion, using the reversals and recognitions characteristic of ancient romance. Jerome preserves the canonical novel in its public corpus.
